In Memory

Andy Blankenship - Class Of 1984

Andy Blankenship

Andrew Jon “Andy” Blankenship died far too young in a vehicle accident on July 3, 2017. He was born October 26, 1965 in Redding, CA. Andy will be remembered by his family and friends through the kindness he showed to everyone he came in contact with. Andy was known as a quiet, soft-spoken man who had a keen sense of humor. He was witty, easygoing and fiercely loyal to everyone whom he counted as a friend. Andy loved his family and was a proud grandpa – he was always talking about his grandchildren. Family was most important to him, and he cultivated a sense of family in friends, coworkers and acquaintances he met in various groups and gatherings. He was always willing to volunteer with projects that provided help and hope for those less fortunate such as LIFT Tehama. Although he faced many struggles in life, Andy also experienced many more victories than defeats – he finished well. Andy is survived by his daughters Angel Blankenship (Alan) of Albany, OR; Echo Blankenship of Diamond Springs; and Ivanna Ahart (Michael) of Copperas Cove, TX. His grandchildren include Isabell, Alex, Gwyn, and Mizuki; Tayllar, Liam, Bradley, and Brooklyn; and Jarred, Kendra, and Holly. He also leaves behind a sister Peggy Whitten (Greg) of Red Bluff; a sister Senia Owensby (Wayne) of Charlotte, NC; and a brother Art Blankenship (Pennie) of Auburn. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Andy was predeceased by his parents, Dewey Arthur and Muriel Aasve Blankenship. He was a son, brother, uncle, father, grandpa, and friend. He will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held at Community Baptist Church, 598 Roundup Ave, Red Bluff, on Monday, July 24th at 1:00 p.m. All who knew him are welcome to attend.
